sorry this one took longer than normal

He can’t find out!

had some stuff to deal with

They all think I’m crazy. I’ll show them. I’ll show them who’s crazy.

and it took a bit to figure out where I wanted to go with this update

His house and his smell and his chair enveloped her, pulling her into his world of shadow and flame.

She fought against it, holding the memory of Jason aloft as a candle against the darkness. The fog rolled back, and she focused on the writing in front of her.

What was it that he couldn’t know?

plus I think I'm kind of sick

If it was just me, who knows? I might tell him. I might give him what he wants. Give all for love and let the devil take the hindmost.

But Emma…Emma deserves more than that. She deserves a father.

And so I won’t tell him. I will hold him here on the edge. I won’t let him fall.

And I keep hoping that he’ll come back to us, but really…it’s been years now. Years and years of trying to pull him back. My arms are getting tired.

my lungs hurt a lot

Lilith held her place and flipped back, looking for an earlier mention of Emma. A sudden morbid curiosity concerning how Emma had come into the world had overtaken her. It was hard to imagine him being intimate with anyone.

She could feel his outline on the chair.

She didn’t know how much time she had, but anyway for all she knew he was already here being all invisible and crazy and stuff. Probably standing behind her with a lighter and just waiting for the leprechaun to tell him to set her on fire. So why not spend her last few minutes looking for the dirty bits in his wife’s diary?

The word “waffles” caught her eye.

Did you know I love this story?

I made waffles for breakfast this morning.

but it has so many holes and inconsistencies and oddities

Seth always used to like waffles.

but that's okay, because it's just a stream of consciousness first draft

Back when he was sane.

I wonder if I could fit in a Seth POV update somehow?

The thing I like most about baking is the controlled heat. It’s a primitive enemy, caged and tamed and made into a friend.

Oh dear, time for another cough drop I think

Of course sometimes it burns down its cage.

it's always so fun seeing where the update leads me

He was doing it again this morning. Going on and on about fire and death and life. And life fruit.

I wish he wouldn’t talk about the life fruit.

emo Seth!

I miss him. I miss him so much. He used to be warm and funny and gentle. He used to come home so excited about his work. I could never really understand it, but I loved to hear him talk about it. They were working on a way to teleport matter through space when…

Yay exposition!

The thing I like most about baking is that the fire is under control.

Some days are better than others. Sometimes he’s almost his old self.

I haven’t completely lost him.

the leprechaun tells me to burn things

And I hope that the news I have today will help him. Help him hold on to the light.

I’m pregnant.

I think it may just need one more Lilith pic

Lilith was weirdly disappointed with Sarah’s lack of description and yet also creeped out. But what would she have done in Sarah’s situation, if Jason had changed like that?

She shuddered at the thought and put it firmly out of her mind.

She wasn’t on fire yet. That was good. Maybe he really wasn’t here.

She turned back to the entry she’d been reading. What had Sarah been hiding? Had Seth found out? Was that why he’d burned her?

I won’t let Emma have a murderer for a father.

But I don’t know much longer I can hold on to him. I don’t know how much of him is left to be held on to.

check out the lifetime happiness points, beeyotch

yay for LTH hacks that speed them up by a factor of 10, lol

see, I'm tying it into Nightmare

They all think I’m crazy. I’ll show them. I’ll show them who’s crazy.

    Woohoo! first comment!

Oh my Godness! Seth set fire on his wife when she was pregnant? OMG!
I’m curious.. the mention about life fruit seems like in this universe is a myth or something similar…

    • medleymisty says:

Oh no, there’s a bit of time skipping going on here as Lilith flips back and forth through the diary. The pregnant entry is quite a few years before the fire.

And yes, life fruit does work a bit differently in Valley’s universe than it does in the game – I took a bit of artistic license with that. 😉

  2. ok so…the part about seth possibly standing behind her with a lighter waiting on the leprechaun to tell him what to do made me laugh so hard that i leaned back too far in my chair and flipped over. on my cat’s tail. that was a good time.

a blog that is worth the injuries inflicted upon its readers and the furry creatures around them is a very good thing. 🙂

  3. ferlinda07 says:

Wow. I really do like this story alot. I think I’ll be sad when it ends.

The title was interesting – when I first saw it, I went, “Waffles?” Not in a bad way, of course. But I realise now it adds a bit of warmth in what would otherwise be a very serious and rather dark story. And I like that.

At first I thought Sarah more as the woman was afraid of her husband, and trapped. But these few chapters have opened up a new perspective to them – she loves him, and a lot, too. I find their interaction very sweet, though it’s mostly one-sided. I wonder what Seth thinks throughout this?

As usual, your descriptions were amazing. I love your language, it’s fluid and imaginative and you paint the scenes rather than describe them. It’s magical that way. (:

As usual, do update when you can, I can’t wait to read the next chapter.

    • medleymisty says:

I have been considering a Seth POV update. If I can’t do it in the actual story I may just write it and post it on LJ. Possibly as my entry for Simhaven’s October story challenge. 😉

Yeah – nothing jumped out at me as a source for a title other than the pics of Sarah making waffles combined with previous mentions of waffles.

And it is very one-sided, yes. Both in the telling of it because it’s Sarah’s diary and only from her perspective (notice I resist the temptation to add dialogue to her diary) and also because Seth was very much wrapped up in his own little crazy world and didn’t really see other people.

They’re a shadow version of Lilith and Jason to some extent. At the beginning of the story Lilith had withdrawn into herself and Jason was feeling isolated and alone but still very much in love – much like Sarah.

And awww, I think I seriously may just cry now. Thank you so very very much, and I truly appreciate it.

As for the next update – my goal at the moment is Sunday. We’ll see. I do know what I want to do with it already, but I need to play Seth a fair bit before I can shoot his parts of it. Which means more amusing picspam on LJ, yay! 😉

      • glee111 says:

OMG! 😮 And Jason used to make waffles too! My mind has been blown. 😉
        I loved it.

        • medleymisty says:

Thank you. 🙂 I went to check out your legacy and I was very impressed, even though the pictures aren’t showing up. But then I’m at work, so maybe that’s why.

I didn’t think it was that impressive a parallel, lol. 😉

          • glee111 says:

If I were a sim, I would be easily impressed. 🙂 My favourites tab is full of blogs because I love them all!
The pictures didn’t show up on my computer either, but I fixed that pretty easily. I just had to replace the pictures. At least I don’t edit them like you do.

  4. scarletsimphony says:

Amazing update! I’ve been waiting all day for it. I loved the leprechaun part too, but I didn’t hurt a cat, lol 😛 And the title threw me off when I first saw it. I was all, “Wtf this is supposed to be serious!” Haha, but it’s a wonderful title. Perfection. Thank you!

  5. Poph says:

LOVE this one. I did love the previous few but this one gave me a compelling urge to comment.

I must say I am quite confused about what’s happening, you and your tricks! I’m assuming Emma was Sarah’s baby (the one who she was pregnant with at the time of the diary) so WHAT is she hiding!? ‘I won’t let Emma have a murderer for a father’ has just thrown all my theories out the window! so confused! But in a good way!

    • medleymisty says:

Emma is indeed Sarah and Seth’s kid. She has Sarah’s hair and Seth’s eyes and was made using the create a baby tool in CAS. So although I do like the theories that some people came up with I kind of have to make her their actual kid.

I like people’s theories. If it helps at all I used the game as a framework, but I did take some artistic license with it. In Valley’s universe, life fruit is harder to come by and its effects last longer than how it actually works in the game. And I took a bit of inspiration from Sims 2. 🙂

      Thank you. 🙂

  6. insidehopesprings says:

Ooooooh, the plot thickens. Sarah definitely knows something. The mention of teleportation has me curious. Did they teleport something back that wasn’t supposed to come back …food for thought.

I am starting to think that whatever it was that had to do with the whole teleportation bit was what changed Seth. Pure speculation on my part though.

I kind of feel sorry for Seth. Maybe he saw/experienced something, no one believed him and figured he had lost his mind. It would drive anyone insane, to see things and not be believed. Kind of like Cassandra during the Fall of Troy. She warned them all about the invasion but no one believed her.

    • medleymisty says:

My original thoughts were mostly just that teleportation is how Seth gets around without being seen and gets into locked and secure places and is why he’s transparent when he goes out to kill people, but hmm. I will have to think about your theory – both that part and the Cassandra part.

As always, thank you. 🙂 I very much appreciate your comments and insights.

  7. raquelaroden says:

Hmmm….another intriguing chapter. So, they had Emma together (I think Sarah was too dedicated to him to be unfaithful), and she hoped that a baby would bring him back to her. When it didn’t, it was even worse, because by that time he must have murdered someone in his quest for immortality–an experiment that didn’t work out. Maybe Sarah is hiding the fact that she knew about the murder from him? But she says he wants to do something…maybe kill her? Experiment on her? Hmm….

    • medleymisty says:

Oh yes. Sarah wouldn’t cheat on him. Ewww. 😉

And that’s a good insight – I do think that it made things worse when she had Emma and Seth continued to be crazy and withdrawn and she…oh, but that’s next update.

Sarah was the first person Seth killed, if that helps.

Thank you. I always enjoy your comments. 🙂

  8. Ambree says:

Ok, I think it’s safe to say I’m getting obsessed with this story, since your last update I have been checking your boolprop topic and your twitter to find out when you’d be posting the next chapter! I have to say this one definately does NOT disappoint, I loved it, and now I’m sinking into the story even more! I can’t wait to find out what Sara is hiding, and also what happens when Seth comes home and discovers Lilith there. So many questions, and I can’t wait for the next update, amazing work as always! 🙂

    • medleymisty says:

Wow, thank you! I am definitely over the weekend’s unpleasantness now. 🙂

I’ve been obsessed with it since…hmm. Hard to say. I think it was around Daydream that I really and truly fell in love.

That really does mean a lot and makes me feel so much better, and I really really really appreciate it and will reply to your PM on Boolprop later – really got to head back to work now.

  9. Sara says:

9th comment!! lol A while back I said that Lilith could actually be Seth’s daughter and now I would be thinking that more but you said that wasn’t what would happenin or somethin like that. I’m ot commenting very much anymore because I’m sick with a cold I think. Have to lay in bed it’s soooooooo boring!! 😦 😦 😦 😦 😦 😦

  10. Sara says:

Good Job though!! Really good. 🙂 🙂

  11. kansine says:

ohhh…. great chapter, but you still left us in suspence! XD What is pecial about Emma? How did she know that Seth would become a murderer if he found out… what??? O___O

  12. DB loves her Mac says:

    Waffles=the very essence of win!

It made me smile when I saw the title. And you wove it in perfectly, with Sarah’s musings about baking caking the fiery beast.

Very poignant. I have an inkling of an idea about what Sarah’s secret might be.

And LOL @ Lilith pausing to make sure she’s not on fire!

    • medleymisty says:

      Awww, thank you.

And ooh, you do? I am trying to hint at it. 😉 And if the next update goes the way I imagine it right now it’ll probably be pretty clear by the end of it. Which, yes, I think it’s finally to the point where the next update is going to end with The Line. Which I have certainly set things up now for the line to resonate with other people almost as much as it does with me. Actually now I wonder if I’ve set it up too much and over-emphasized some things.

      Yay for comic relief! 😉

  13. Christian says:

nice. can’t wait for the nxt update.

  14. catherinesims3 says:

Oh, the teleporter shots turned out absolutely beautiful!

I have to run, just dropping by because I could not wait to read this. And I really liked it!

  15. Sara says:

I think there might me something wrong with this computer because whenever I get an email that more people commented on this (you can read the comments on it too) and after I read the comments on there I sometimes check this because I want to comment on something someone said (mostly on what you say to me Misty or Stacey what should I call you by?) and it just dissapears. It only disapears if you reply to something I said. It’s weird.

  16. catherinesims3 says:

Just making another quick swoop by to say that I really like the way you keep talking about L. feeling Seth’s imprint in the chair. Creepy and neat.

    • medleymisty says:

Yeah, I was surprised. EA definitely put more time and effort into the teleporter than into the cars.

Heh. I figure at this point they’re pretty intimate really, so I’m trying to get that across.

      Thanks. 🙂

  17. CGB says:

I notice your icon is of Lilith again.
For some reason I always thought of Sarah’s pregnancy as her being pregnant with their 2nd child. Now I see that it was with Emma.
The story continues to be awesome. I can’t say more than that.

  18. CGB says:

And one more thing — I was listening to my iPod, and for some reason “Black Shoes” by The Films sounded sort of like a Seth song to me, or general Valley song. Any input?

    • medleymisty says:

Wow – thank you for introducing me to new music.

Hmm. I can see how the lyrics might be Seth-like, yes. 🙂 I like to imagine that he has charm and grace and elegance and style even if that hasn’t come across in the story yet. But it’s not too much longer until I get to write dialogue for him. *evil laughter*

In the story Emma is their only child, but in the game I decided to farm a kid for LTH points for the teleporter and got Sarah pregnant. She went into labor while she was cooking dinner and so the stove caught on fire. She ran upstairs and passed out and Lilith put out the fire and Seth rolled the wish to see Lilith’s fiery ghost. Then Sarah woke up and had the kid – a girl I named Elizabeth. She was born excitable and I randomized the other trait. Insane. Mwahahahaha!

Seth isn’t in the house yet, no. He just materialized on his teleporter pad next to the stone circle. 🙂

  19. Lol the title made me laugh! Ahh!! This is getting creepy!!! EEEEEK! :O
I LOVE IT THOUGH!!! I need to HAVE the next update. haha your really good at this! 😀

    • medleymisty says:

      Awww, thanks. 🙂

Took today off as per usual for an update day, but I imagine I’ll be playing Seth to get him ready for the next update tomorrow. Current goal for finishing the next update is Sunday.

  20. Carla says:

Reading Sarah’s diary excerpts made me so sad for her, knowing what happened eventually. She must have felt so helpless – she seemed to be trying to stop what was coming. I wonder if she knew quite how bad it would be.

    • medleymisty says:

      It is sad, isn’t it?

I don’t think she knew – there was always a part of her that saw Seth as he used to be and she never really truly thought he’d become what he is now. She knew it was bad, but even after years and years of insanity she thought he’d get better eventually.

  21. tipix7 says:

I like how Seth suddenly becomes tangible in the final shot, very nice.

    • medleymisty says:

Oh wow – errr, I thought he was still transparent in that shot. But looking at it now…

There goes your idea about gradual materialization, Catherine.

Oh well, I think that it still gets across what I was going for.

      Thanks. 🙂

  22. gayl says:

Oh wow that’s Seth, not ghost Seth in the end isn’t it. This is CREEPY!! And he did teleport.

The connection between Seth and Lilith is about as tangible as Seth is in the end. She knows he is either there or coming. I am hoping there is something in that diary that allows Lilith to put Seth to rest and that she can escape.

    • medleymisty says:

Yep. Transparent Seth is Seth using the teleporter. Like Bella said, he’s still very much alive. 🙂

You gave me a lot to think about, actually. Hmm.

Thank you, as always. I always appreciate your comments.

  23. Ning says:

Waffles! I was rather happy to see this title 😀

He’s appearing! Seth’s finally appearing! He’s found a way to teleport matter and people through space? That’s rather creepy. And I suppose this is what happens when such powerful inventions fall into the wrong hands.. :S

Is the last line Seth’s thoughts or Sarah’s? Sounds like Seth wanted revenge. X(

  24. Sara says:

wait if Sarah had they baby before she died… how come no one ever mentioned her?

  25. DebC says:

Yay! I’m so glad you update! 🙂

Poor Sarah, fighting for someone who doesn’t know he needs fighting for!

    • medleymisty says:

Thanks. 🙂 They’re taking longer now because I have to do more prep work than I did for previous updates, but Valley chugs along. Ain’t stopping until it’s done.

And Sarah was certainly not in an enviable position, no.

  26. TheLunarFox says:

Waffles are so judgmental, aren’t they? Where’s the ice cream?

Awesome title. Waffles are so normal and ordinary. Amazing to think that Crazy evil Seth ever had someone who loved him enough to sit down and make waffles for him. It was a sweet and creepy tie in to the beginning with Jason when she woke up to a normal morning.

    • medleymisty says:

I actually did consider naming the next update Ice Cream, lol. But that would be two words, and also I just don’t think it’s fitting for what will quite possibly be the update where Seth first speaks.

Why you gotta be hating on Seth like that? So he likes to burn people up. We all have hobbies. 😉

Oh yes, definitely going for the parallels with Lilith and Jason here. I’ve started to think that Seth is the path that Lilith didn’t choose, in an abstract way – I don’t think she would have ended up exactly like him. I don’t see her killing people and all that. But there are similarities there.

      • Sara says:

Burning people up is a HOBBY!?It’s a good thing you didn’t make her go down Seth’s past because that would of probably made it end early. If Seth spoke in the next update you could call it “Horror” (without the quotes or with the quotes)

        • medleymisty says:

It’s just a little joke. I can have a rather dark sense of humor at times.

That is an interesting suggestion. I wouldn’t have thought of it because horror isn’t a word I associate with Seth. Hmm.

          • Sara says:

Well I thought thats what Lilith would think. Or I would think talking to Seth would be Horror lol I quite like that and thought it would probably fit in

  27. moondaisy101 says:

I can’t see how Sarah is the first person Seth kills, yet she says “I won’t let Emma have a murderer for a father”? Maybe I’m just confused. I love the way you have side plots springing up all over the place… the way Sarah talks about the oven and the fire caged within is brilliant combined with him lighting the hearth (and what we know of ‘accidental’ fires already). You are so very talented! 🙂

    • medleymisty says:

She wants to prevent Seth from killing people – she knows that he’s after something that involves death. I don’t want to spoil everything so I’ll leave it at that for now. The next update is going to answer a lot of questions. My summary for it is just three sentences. The first one is “Lilith reads diary, basically tells what’s up.” Well, from Sarah’s POV and what Sarah knew, anyway. Seth will still have some questions to answer.

Awww, thanks. 🙂 I had started on the downward slide of the self confidence roller coaster today, so that is very much appreciated.

  28. I loved the title – there’s this whole waffles theme threaded through the story – nice. I like threads like that. 🙂

OK – so he teleports around – that’s why no one sees him. But I don’t understand the being invisible while killing people unless that’s creative license with the teleporter. Which it probably is. OK.

I really like the parallels you draw between Sarah and Jason and then Lilith and Seth – kind of a whole “Dead Again” thing going on. Without the death. Kinda. Nvm.

Can’t wait to figure out what the secret is that Sarah won’t tell… you never mention it, but I always wondered – did she have a job? If so, was it in the same career as Seth?

Anyway… wonderful update. My son just read through the whole story and he said to tell you he wants MOAR. Right NOW. lol

    • medleymisty says:

Yeah – don’t worry, the teleportation thing is completely inspired by the game and won’t be in the non-Sims version. I know it’s kind of a weak point. Among many other weak points that I plan to clean up or just trash.

I’ve decided that the Sims version is the very rough stream of consciousness first draft and am trying to not beat myself up too much about stuff like that.

If it helps though, we can say that it works by phasing him in and out of our spacetime continuum and that he’s occupying a slightly other space when he’s using it. Like he’s in a spacetime that’s at right angles to ours and he’s still close enough to interact but different enough to not materialize fully. Does that work?

Hmm. I shall have to google Dead Again.

In the non-Sims version, she is going to be in the same career as Seth and possibly on his research team – I’m going to create a scientific/magical system roughly based on alchemy and they’re both going to be alchemists or whatever name I come up with for my system-ists.

Basically, I’ve decided to dedicate the next few years of my life to the non-Sims Valley and am planning on spending months or a year or however long it takes on just building the world before I even start writing. First thing I’m going to do after finishing the Sims version is find every book on alchemy that I can.

Also, I don’t think Jason is going to be in law enforcement – actually I’m thinking it’s going to be a sort of dystopia style setting where there’s not so much value placed on life and there’s less law and order. Basically I need a small closed location where people don’t get all official and legal about death and I’m trying to think of how to achieve that. I briefly considered setting it far in the past, but I just can’t see Lilith in a dress or having to deal with extremely restrictive gender roles. So at the moment I’m thinking a world like ours except for the bit where alchemy works, but messed up. Like maybe it’s the not too distant future after some event that causes a collapse – and quite possibly Seth had something to do with that event.

Or maybe a different sort of political and social system will grow out of the alchemical system and it’ll just naturally be a crueler world. Like I said, I’m prepared to spend years on building the world if that’s what it takes.

In the Sims version though, I think she’s a SAHM.

Thank you. And awww – tell your son I said thanks to him too. 🙂 My goal for the next update is Sunday – gotta play Seth some before I can shoot his parts of it.

  29. worsiedog says:

LOL… I have had a sneaky suspicion about something for a number of chapters.. I wonder if I am right or if it will be another *blonde moment*

Absolutely awesome story! I am *agog* at what you do with your pics!

It just shows how important pictures are and how they make a story really come alive!

    • medleymisty says:

Oh wow, you read the whole thing in one go? That makes me feel all fuzzy and warm.

      What’s the sneaking suspicion? 😉

Thank you. 🙂 And yes, my personal philosophy is that Sims stories are like comics or TV shows and are a very visual medium and that the pictures should definitely help tell the story.

      • worsiedog says:

Oh yay, do you collect comics??(I used to) That would really explain some of the images in your story..

Or perhaps you are just really creative?

If I may ask, what photo editing software do you use? I don’t have or use any, but it’s nice to have an idea what really good creators use.

Well.. as for the sneaking suspicion… if I tell it might spoil it for everyone else?

There is just this idea that keeps scratching the back of my head, regarding kids and so on.

        • medleymisty says:

Nope. I love movies based on comics – saw The Dark Knight eight times in theaters and Ledger’s Joker was my desktop background before the pic with Lilith on the ledge of the Goth house and the giant Seth face from Suspect. But I can’t actually get into reading them for some reason. I did plow through Watchmen and…Arkham Asylum?

I use GIMP. I just play around with the filters and effects until I find something that gets across the mood I want.

Hmm – if it regards kids then I think it wouldn’t spoil anything. 😉

  30. Paige says:

Im still crying over jason being dead. Why did you have to kill him off!?!?! Or wait… call it false hope.. .but do we really know he’s dead before? I mean, Lilith didnt actually see him die…

    • medleymisty says:

Yeah – I can’t listen to his music on the Valley playlist anymore because it makes me upset. But it had to happen.

And no, she didn’t see him die. But he is definitely dead.

But he will live again when I start writing the non-Sims version if that helps. 😉

  31. No, don’t worry about the teleporter thing – I just wanted to make sure I was understanding things properly. I would think you can go a couple different ways with it. The teleporter, or whatever gadget you use, could function in such a way that it, by its very nature, keeps the person from materializing fully. I remember one book I read that had a time machine, but it only worked going forward, not backward – you can build your machine to work whatever way you think it should.

Or – they could be in a different or parallel universe. Kind of like the Jet Li movie “The One” – sorta – you know – make it work how you think it would work. Different or parallel universe or just completely different worlds that have no connection to the reality we as people know can work really well – you aren’t confined by physical laws.

Dead Again was a really cool movie – the premise was really interesting – kind of ties in with the parallels you draw between the characters – while I was reading it that movie popped into my head.

It makes sense to create the world first – I’ve read a few books where the world had different moral values, including no law against murder – it can work. That’s where all that time creating the world first pays off.

There’s a trilogy called the Il Rien series you might want to take a look at where the society is very reminiscent of Victorian England where magic is used, even taught at university – that might give you an idea or two – It’s by Martha Wells – the first book is called the Wizard Hunters, I think. I really enjoyed it. It doesn’t have an alchemical base – or at least not really – but it’s interesting the way it’s been stitched together.

As to setting it in the past – I’ve always kind of been a fan of books that take the premise that our civilization on earth started elsewhere and came here and that magic was widely practiced and used until it was lost. Kind of a Stargate premise. And since you’re fleshing out the world, there doesn’t need to be any confining gender roles. That’s the history of *our* world – your world can have whatever history you want it to have.

I hope, since I keep bringing up movies or books that have a parallel in their premise to what you are considering, that you don’t think I’m saying “it’s already been done.” I am NOT saying that! Your story hasn’t been done. It’s just waiting for you to get complete in your mind. The suggestions are just to give you an idea of how other people have solved those dilemmas. I hope they help. Even if they don’t – they’re enjoyable distractions. 🙂

Thank you! That is a good insight – I’m still trying to focus on finishing the Sims version and hadn’t really thought about the non-Sims world that much yet. So those are all good insights that I will use, and thank you and I appreciate it.

And I’m cool with comparisons – I haven’t seen or read any of the stuff that people compare Valley to except The Ring and Harry Potter, so I know I didn’t copy from it. And there’s only so many stories you can tell and only so many things you can do – the important thing is to make it your own and put your own twist on it.

I will definitely check out the things you recommended and may ask about the books. 🙂

You know you have me hooked, right? I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

  33. Oh, and I meant to tell you – if you’re registered at IMDb.com you can watch the whole movie. And also, if you need help with the alchemical books, I know a couple people who might have a good list or two. 🙂

Between Seth being there and Seth coming there, fascinating concept. Is he, in some way, in both places at the same time? Does Lilith’s observation/reading the diary actually change where he is? Is there any way to know where he is if someone isn’t watching where he is?

Insane questions I know, I’m sorry. I’m totally hooked!!

I love the story! The story is so good that I anticipate reading the next caption, but there also so good I’m caught up concentrating on the fact that updates really do end. ):

Another exiciting chapter! I can’t belive that he would set his wife on fire… well I can’t wait to see what will happen next.

    • medleymisty says:

Thanks. 🙂 Been playing a lot today and actually Seth is just about ready for the next update. Considering the time I’ll probably just wait until tomorrow to get started on it.

  37. Lilac says:

This and the last update were very intersting since they were in sarah’s point of view but, are you going to do a chapter in seth’s POV? btw, just thought i’d let you know that ollie2007 on the sims 3 site is me. ( the reason i have not created any sims, stories ect. is b/c i am really bad at creating sims stuff. (: )

    • medleymisty says:

I have been considering a Seth POV update. If I can’t make it work in the story, I may go ahead and write it and post it on my LJ.

Or who knows, maybe the update after next could actually work from his POV. Hmm….

      Thank you! 🙂

The foreshadowing is incredible. It sends us to the edge of our seat and the hairs on the back of our neck straight up. I love love love the lighting in the story and the house, it certainly looks like it would be freezing and ominous. But what I love and admire the most, is that you obviously love this story with all your heart and that is most important and clearly shows in your work. ^.^ I will be sad when the story ends.

    • medleymisty says:

Awww, thanks. 🙂 And yes, I do love it and I’m scared of being horribly depressed when it ends. Which may be part of why I’ve slowed down a bit on updates.

Speaking of updates – have 8 pictures of the next one done. Hopefully I’ll have it done before I go to bed tonight. We’ll see.

  39. Did Seth just teleport to the present house? Or was that a flashback? Either way, very intriguing!! I don’t know much about life fruit, because I hardly spend time actually playing the game! Ha ha! So this take on the fruit of life- 😉 -will be quite interesting, I’m sure!

  40. Katrea says:

Seth can teleport?! Haha if I knew the Sims game more, it might have made more sense why Seth was shown as invisible even though he’s still alive. I should really play the game more often instead of just using it as a stage >.<

    • medleymisty says:

Yep! I played him until he had enough lifetime reward points for the teleporter. 🙂

Oh, I’m using Supernatural for the new story and I’m still quite ignorant about it, lol. I need to play it some too.

  41. marsar2 says:

“The thing I like most about baking is the controlled heat. It’s a primitive enemy, caged and tamed and made into a friend” <—- I loved that line. I think it perfectly describes Sarah; and in a beautiful way at that :D.

  42. I wonder… if Seth isn’t Emma’s father… and perhaps he wanted to kill her real father and Sarah couldn’t let it happen… and he got so angry with her, he killed her…maybe? I don’t know. Speculating over here. I’ll keep reading.
